The American Heart Association's (AHA) Heartsaver CPR and First aid course is intended for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements. These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.
This is an instructor-led 6-hour one day course. The first half of the class covers CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) use for adults, children (ages 1-8) and infants. The second half covers basic first aid skills.
The workshop teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive.
Skills covered in this course include:
- First aid
- Choking relief in adults, children, and infants
- CPR for adults, children and infants
- Use of an AED
Note: If you need to obtain CPR certification as a prerequisite for EMT, Nursing, CNA, etc. please register for the Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR workshop.

Offsite Training
Workshops can be conducted at your place of business or at TMCC, by request. Offsite trainings or group trainings must have a minimum of 6 participants. Offsite class pricing may vary, depending on class size and location.
