Use safe, natural and sustainable ingredients to dye yarns in striking colors. Discuss how to prepare fibers and which produce items work well. Find out about colorfastness, crocking and other terms. Learn about mordants and how they affect pH balance. See what kind of results you can get from using avocado pits and turmeric or red cabbage and onion skins. At the end of class, you’ll take home six different colored skeins of Merino yarn. $30 materials fee.
