This online refresher course, at the end of successful completion, will provide 24 hours of continuing education credits and completion of required skills with current evidence-based practice to those who need to maintain their certification as an EMT. These credits are eligible for those who wish to recertify with the State of Nevada and NREMT. This course covers all of the 24 hours needed for the state of Nevada recertification and/or 20 hours towards the national component and 4 hours towards the state component of NREMT. Those who need to complete a refresher to complete the NREMT cognitive exam can take this course to satisfy those requirements.
Our program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE), which allows this refresher to be used in other states, as long as it is accepted. Please check with your state to see if they allow for CAPCE courses.
You must complete all modules by the course end date by 11:59 pm AND come in to complete the in-person skills portion. Both requirements must be met in order to receive your completion certificate. We do not guarantee refunds to those who do not complete all requirements by the deadline.
Our course no longer provides CPR recertification, which is required by most states and the NREMT to maintain certification. If you need more information on CPR courses, please visit the following website for more details:

This course also does not require a textbook. You can use your EMT textbook from previous years to help with information, however, we recommend the most current EMT book since 2015. If you have an older version, you will need to update to the newest edition. Here are the recommended textbooks to use:
AAOS: Emergency Care of the Sick and Injured 11th edition
Brady: Emergency Care 13th Edition
Pearson: Prehospital Emergency Care 11th Edition
