Watercolor Birds

Please read:  Please bring the following materials to class on the first night: pencil, eraser, ruler, cup or jar for water, 4x6 watercolor paper (Canson XL Series Watercolor & Artist's Loft Watercolor paper are my favorites), a selection of black graphite pens (like Micron) and a white gel pen (Gelly Roll is great), small spray bottle, watercolor palette with at least 12 colors, a range of synthetic brushes from 8 to 0 (optional: size 3/0 and 5/0 brushes). Optional items: an old synthetic scrubbing brush, professional watercolors (Opera Rose, Alizarin Crimson, Winsor Red, Cobalt Turquoise Light), a palette knife (to be used with professional watercolors), Tonal Value tool (gray scale). **Instructor will provide: tracing paper, water jars, straws, salt, cling film, scratch paper, painter's tape, 7x10 mixed media paper for watercolor exercises.
