Enjoy a beautiful, moderately difficult autumn hike in the scenic Lakes Basin. The 4- to 6-mile hike at an elevation of 7,000 feet offers breathtaking views of rugged granite peaks, peaceful lakes, pristine forests and evidence of a 10,000-year-old glacier.

Spend the day hiking along the Hunter Creek canyon into the beautiful Mt. Rose Wilderness. Enjoy the fall colors and views of downtown Reno during this six-mile round trip trek to the waterfall. During the lunch break, learn about hiking safety and wilderness travel tips. This popular trail, considered moderate to strenuous, is conveniently located on the outskirts of town.
