Gain the skills you need to accurately identify our region’s wild-growing edible and medicinal plants. Delve into the basics of botany, morphology and taxonomy during this lecture, lab and field trip class. Develop your analytical thinking by using a plant identification manual known as a dichotomous key. Material fee of $40 required and covers digital textbook, lab fee and other supplies. Spend the day hiking along the Hunter Creek canyon into the beautiful Mt. Rose Wilderness. Enjoy the fall colors and views of downtown Reno during this six-mile round trip trek to the waterfall.
